Most of the kindred of the city leave the ship after the battle, fleeing from the horror still flailing round the room of the final confrontation. Kindred carry bodies of those rescued, major opponents as well as weapons and armour looted during the retreat. As the kindred make their way towards the back of the ship the boom of heavy weaponry can be heard and the scene of the conflict is partially illuminated by the flaming wreck of the security ship. The Dark Wings appears to be grappled with the chase boat and the most eagle eyed kindred can see amorphous shapes locked in deadly combat with the crew of the Dark Wings. A new vessel can be seen in, much larger than any of those seen so far and a lot closer than it should have got without detection. Where did it come from? The name 'Eternity' is whispered as kindred hurry to their tasks. None watch for long as the less athletic kindred are lowered down before the stronger and more agile carry gibbering rescued allies to the waiting boats, avoiding the occasional snaps of their fangs. A few intrepid individuals remain to scuttle the ship; Fiona and her retainer, Morgan, Bruce and Max.
The boats ferry kindred back to either the Bob Barker or Four Winds while the last boat waits for the saboteurs. Streams of fire streak from the sky down to the conflict on the Dark Wings as it becomes apparent that not only is there a new ship but an attack helicopter on the scene. It appears that the helicopter is shooting at enemies from the chase boat, but it's hard to be certain from your vantage point. Minutes pass, then more minutes as the conflict begins to peter out and the two ships drift apart. You see that the Dark wings is damaged, but still afloat and in the hands of allies. The Helicopter continues to attack the chase vessel which slowly and reluctantly settles into the water, pounded by minutes of heavy fire and multiple missile strikes.
After what seems an eternity in a combat zone like this you see your companions return, though not in their assigned boat. They have commandeered one of the Nisshin Maru's lifeboats and as they get close you see the glint of what appears to be... gold bars? The bars are quickly hauled up along with your companions as Isabella presses the button on the detonator for the explosives. Nothing seems to happen for a moment, but about twenty seconds later you realise that the Nisshin Maru is slowing. As you watch it begins to list, but this stops as the 'Thing' bursts out of the top of the ship, its expanding pseudopods apparently holding the ship out of the water.
Both the Four Winds and the Bob Barker accelerate away from this monstrosity as the Dark Wings fires a full broadside and the Helicopter opens fire. Dark energy crackles round that which should not be as the shots fail to hit it, but as the sphere of darkness expands the ship seems to warp in front of you. For those still watching, time seems to stop, only the thing and the large new ship seeming of relevance. Tentacles are raised and all feel drained as your very being seems pulled towards it. Just as you feel that the energy drawn would be released, large parts of the Nisshin Maru crumple in on itself and the creature, drawing it through a portal of utter darkness. It vanishes with a horrifying hissing, bubbling noise and the Antarctic waters rush into the vacant section of the hull. The ship sinks in moments and although you shouldn't be able to hear anything at this distance you are sure you can hear the screams of the poor souls trapped inside as it plunges into the depths.
All of your ships leave, not looking back.
